About Claire’s Yoga Classes 🌿

My Hatha yoga classes in Crowborough are warm, friendly, and welcoming. I teach beginners yoga, Vinyasa, and senior yoga, focusing on building strength and mobility in a way that’s accessible, intelligent, and enjoyable.🌿

Inspired by somatic yoga and Qigong , my classes encourage you to move mindfully and listen to what feels right for your body — without worrying about how a pose “should” look. Most classes welcome all levels, though some sessions are specially tailored 🌿.

Somatic Yoga Movement 🌿
Somatic yoga is a gentle, mindful practice that improves body awareness, promotes relaxation and enhances flexibility. By retraining your nervous system through conscious, easy movements, it helps you move with greater ease and comfort 🌿.

All my classes are designed to help you mobilise, strengthen, and flow gracefully into yoga postures, making your practice feel natural and deeply rewarding 🌿.

Check the timetable for full details — I’d love to see you in class and support your journey to feeling more connected and at ease in your body 🌿.

Private Yoga Tuition 🌿

Lots of my students really enjoy the one-to-one sessions — it’s a chance to tailor everything exactly to what your body needs. Everyone’s different, especially if you’ve got any niggles or past injuries, so we work together to find what feels right for you.

It’s a friendly, supportive space to take your yoga at your own pace.

Private sessions are £50 per hour.

Small group yoga sessions 🌿

I also offer yoga tuition for small groups, perfect for friends, families, or colleagues. These sessions can be held at your workplace, home, or a small studio, gym, or fitness space of your choice.

If you’re interested, please get in touch to discuss how we can tailor a group class that suits your needs.

About Claire McLellan – Fully Qualified Yoga Teacher 🌿

Hi, I’m Claire! 🍃 I’m a qualified yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance Professionals and have been teaching regularly in Crowborough since 2014. In 2023, I was delighted to become a Senior Yoga Teacher—a lovely milestone after years of learning and growing. 🌱

I’ve always been fascinated by anatomy and have studied it steadily since 2014. Understanding how the body moves helps me tailor classes—whether group or one-to-one—to suit your unique needs, making yoga feel safe, accessible, and truly helpful. 🌿

My teaching style draws inspiration from wonderful teachers and traditions, including Gary Carter of Natural Bodies (who’s also a mentor), Tias Little, Thomas Hanna, Qigong, Hatha Yoga, and Vinyasa Yoga. 🌱

I keep things down-to-earth and welcoming, encouraging you to connect more deeply with your body through movement—and to bring more awareness and calm to your life, both on and off the mat.

🌳 Yoga has been a lifelong journey for me, and I’m truly grateful for every step—and all the laughter along the way. 🌾

Breathing for Health 🌬️

Breathing isn’t just something that happens automatically in the background — when we breathe consciously, it can have a powerful impact on our well-being. Mindful breathing techniques help reduce stress, promote relaxation 🧘‍♀️, boost physical health, and support emotional balance.

Physically:
Conscious breathing improves heart function ❤️ by increasing oxygen supply—not just to the heart, but throughout the entire body. The movement of the diaphragm also helps the heart pump more efficiently, which can lower blood pressure. Good breathing supports digestion and helps our organs, muscles, and skin repair themselves more effectively. It can even improve posture.

Mentally:
Breathing deeply connects us to intuition and clarity, helping to shift our emotional state toward calmness. It also enhances body awareness, coordination, and control of movement.
